Tandem Club Whats On

If you participate in any ride organised by or in the name of The Tandem Club, you do so entirely at your own risk. The Club, its officers and ride organisers accept no responsibility for any loss, damage to property, accident, injury or death that may occur, however caused, whether by negligence, deliberate act or otherwise. These rides are organised for members of the Tandem Club, please join the club.

June 2026 Ride

Starting from Chantry Field Car Park, Gillingham SP8 4UA. There is a cafe and toilets in Waitrose which adjoins the car park. It is £4.20 for up to 10 hours parking payable by cash, card or phone. at 11:00. 28 miles. We ride 18 miles to Compton Abbas airfield for our lunch stop. We will probably stop in Semley to ease our legs and have a stretch. The Bennet Arms opens at 1200 if we want a drink or the loo.
It is a hilly ride to the airfield so be prepared with a nice low gear. After lunch at the airfield we drop down to Fontmell Magna and then have rolling lanes back. There is a pub in  East Stour where we can stop for a drink if we want to. Another 5 miles from East Stour brings us back to Gillingham. July 2026 Ride

Starting from The square in the centre of Chagford - 2 Public Car Parks are available (payable) at 10:00 for 10:30 start. 20 miles. Coffee/ breakfast is available in a number of Cafes in Chagford. First 5 miles is uphill (Dartmoor Hills!). Lunch in Widecombe after 11 miles at the Café on the Green.
